A little bit about me

Hi! Nice to meet you, I'm Laura, a calligrapher, lettering artist and social media manager from Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

With a background in marketing, PR and communications, mainly in the charity sector, I started Letters Ink while I was on maternity leave with my daughter. Since 2018, I've been creating beautiful, bespoke calligraphy for clients and brands all over the UK. Since 2022, I have also been a freelance Social Media Manager offering copywriting, graphics and strategy to businesses looking to up-level their social media presence. 

What sets me apart from others in my field? Both sides of my business very much complement one another. As a small business owner, I understand the pressures on your time and energy, so when it comes to supporting your business with its social media, I work in a way that makes life easy for you and takes as much off your plate as possible. Calligraphy demands high attention to detail, patience and creativity, all skills that come in handy whether I am creating a stationery suite for a wedding or crafting a social media schedule for a small business.

And what about me as a person? When I’m not creating greetings card commissions or editing a reel I can be found walking my golden retriever in the Kent countryside (he often pops up on my Instagram stories), pottering in my small garden or reading the latest book club book. I’m a keen walker and have completed the Surrey Peaks and Yorkshire Three Peaks. Next stop, the real 3 Peaks. I have two children and work flexibly to be there for them outside school and in the holidays. My husband and I were childhood sweethearts and our honeymoon was a round-the-world trip. We still avidly travel as much as the school holiday flight prices will let us!
