A little bit about me

Hi! Nice to meet you, I'm Laura. Thanks for dropping by! 

So, here's the deal; I'm passionate about letters and writing. I think the lost art of writing a really good letter is a real tragedy and I'm on a mission to make sure that the art of greetings cards, letter-writing and illustrating by hand doesn't get lost in this digital age. I think there's nothing more lovely than a bespoke, hand-written card dropping through the letterbox onto your doormat, whatever the occasion. 

Letters Ink was born after taking a career break from the charity marketing sector. I started selling cards at a local cafe and through word of mouth Letters Ink grew into a business that now offers bespoke cards, event stationery, calligraphy products and runs workshops to teach other people the joy of modern calligraphy and lettering. 

Nowadays you'll find me inky-fingered and enthusiastically talking all things lettering and handwriting! I love the variety that this job offers- one day I am lettering placecards and menus for a wedding, the next I'm creating huge hand-lettered event signage, the next I'm illustrating a bespoke new home card with an intricate watercolour picture of the front door. I spend evenings and weekends teaching calligraphy, which I love! And then when Christmas rolls around (and I LOVE Christmas!) I'll be surrounded by baubles and all things festive! 

I really love nothing more than hearing from someone new about an idea they've had and would like me to bring to life with ink!
